Art is always about the magic of light and shadow. This time, the Belgian filmmaker and illustrator Vincent Bal, creates a series of poetic and humorous illustrations with the shadows.
The particularity of these little sketches lies in the fact that Vincent Bal uses the drop shadow of common objects to illustrate the main object or character of his work. With the shadow and the lines added, a vivid picture is innovated.

This method is simple but full of interest and requires a strong observation and imagination. With an object, we always focus too much on itself as a whole but forget the other side effects coming with the object: the shape, the color, the shadow themselves could also convey the art.
Taught by Vincent Bal, it's essential to keep an observative eye on the small details and never underestimate even a little corner of our daily life.
